Setting up your vly account takes about two minutes. This page is a checklist of the things worth doing on day one.

Create your account

1

Go to vly.ai/signup

Email + password, or one-click sign-in with Google or GitHub.
2

Verify your email

Click the link in the verification email. Until verified, you can use vly but some workspace operations are blocked.
3

Pick a username

This becomes your default workspace slug — app.vly.ai/yourname. Change later from settings.

First-time defaults to set

Default agent

Settings → Preferences → Default agent. Most users start with Claude Code. Switch later per project.

Default mode

Settings → Preferences → Default mode. Plan mode for safety, Agent mode for speed. Toggle per prompt either way.

Theme

Light, dark, or system. The vly editor and dashboard respect your choice.

Notification preferences

Email digests for build failures, billing alerts, security events.

Connect your accounts

Optional but recommended for most workflows:

GitHub

Sync projects to a GitHub repo. Open PRs from vly. Run GitHub Actions on push.

Google

Sign in to vly with Google. Also enables Gmail / Calendar integrations down the line.

Slack

Build deploys, errors, billing alerts to your team’s channels.

Stripe

For projects that handle payments. Connect once; available across all your projects.

Invite teammates

If you’re working with a team, set up your workspace properly:
1

Create a workspace

Settings → Workspaces → Create. Pick a name and slug.
2

Invite members

Settings → Members → Invite. Pass them an invite link or send by email.
3

Assign roles

Owner / admin / member. Owners control billing; admins manage projects; members build.
See Workspaces and Roles & permissions for the model.

API access (optional)

If you’ll integrate vly into your own tooling:
1

Generate an API key

Workspace settings → API keys → Create new key.
2

Store it securely

Use a secrets manager or a .env file. Never commit to source.
3

Test it

Verify everything works

Last sanity check: run through the Quickstart and ship a hello-world app. ~5 minutes; confirms account, workspace, and deploy pipeline are healthy.

Quickstart

Build and deploy your first app.

Workspaces

Workspaces, teams, members.

Plans & pricing

Pick the right tier.
