Deployment issues

DNS, SSL, custom domain, and promotion problems.

When the deploy is built but the site isn’t reachable, the issue is almost always DNS or SSL.

Quick checks

1. Is the build green?

   Check the deploy log. If it failed, see Build failures.

2. Does the *.vly.app URL work?

   Open the project’s default URL. If yes, the issue is custom domain only.

3. Does DNS resolve correctly?

   dig app.yourcompany.com should return the CNAME pointing to cname.vly.app. If not, DNS hasn’t propagated; wait or check your DNS provider.

4. Is the SSL cert active?

   Check Settings → Domains. Status should be “Active”. If “Pending SSL”, wait or click “Retry SSL”.

Common issues

'Pending DNS' for >1 hour

DNS records wrong or not propagated. Re-check with dig or whatsmydns.net.

'Pending SSL' for >30 minutes

Let’s Encrypt rate limit. Wait an hour, click “Retry SSL”.

Browser shows 'Your connection is not private'

Cert not yet issued, or browser cached an old one. Try incognito.

Apex domain not working

DNS providers vary in apex support. See Custom domains → apex.

Cloudflare-related issues

“Orange cloud” proxy ON when it should be OFF, or SSL/TLS mode “Flexible” causing redirect loops. See DNS setup → Cloudflare.
