Supabase is an open-source Firebase-style platform — Postgres database, object storage, realtime, and auth.
Most vly apps use Convex as the primary backend. Supabase makes sense as a secondary store for cases that benefit from Postgres (existing data, complex SQL, specific extensions).

  • Connect to an existing Postgres database.
  • pgvector for vector search alongside relational queries.
  • Row-level security policies you’ve already authored.

Setup

SUPABASE_URL and SUPABASE_SERVICE_ROLE_KEY in vly secrets. Use @supabase/supabase-js from a Convex action.
