  • Files larger than 100 MB.
  • Multipart uploads for very large files.
  • Region-specific storage requirements.
  • Existing S3 infrastructure.

Setup

AWS_REGION, AWS_ACCESS_KEY_ID, AWS_SECRET_ACCESS_KEY, S3_BUCKET in vly secrets. Upload via presigned URLs from a Convex mutation.

Convex file storage

Default; cheaper for most use.

Cloudflare R2

S3-compatible, no egress fees.

UploadThing

Simpler alternative.
