# Common errors

> The errors you're most likely to hit, with fixes.

## Auth errors

    Auth context isn't reaching the page. Check that the route is wrapped in the auth-protected layout. If using OAuth, verify the redirect URI matches your provider config exactly.

  <Accordion title="Sign-in fails silently" icon="alert-triangle">
    Check the browser console and Convex logs. Often a typo in the OAuth client secret or a wrong redirect URL.
  </Accordion>

  <Accordion title="'Email already exists'" icon="alert-triangle">
    A user with that email is already registered (perhaps via a different OAuth provider). Sign in with the original method, then link the new provider.

## Type errors

  <Accordion title="Type 'X' is not assignable to type 'Y'" icon="x-circle">
    Schema mismatch between code and the Convex schema. Re-check the schema validators; the agent's auto-correct usually handles this in 1-2 retries.

  <Accordion title="Cannot find module" icon="x-circle">
    Import path is wrong or the file doesn't exist. Cmd+P / Ctrl+P to verify.

## Convex errors

    The Convex function name is wrong, or the file hasn't been deployed yet. Wait a few seconds; refresh.

  <Accordion title="'Document size exceeds 1 MB'" icon="x-circle">
    A field on a row is too large. Split into multiple documents or use file storage for large blobs.
  </Accordion>

## Integration errors

  <Accordion title="Stripe: 'No signatures found matching the expected signature'" icon="alert-triangle">
    The webhook signing secret is wrong. Re-copy from Stripe → Webhooks → \[endpoint] → Signing secret.

  <Accordion title="OpenAI: 'You exceeded your current quota'" icon="alert-triangle">
    Add credit at platform.openai.com/billing.
  </Accordion>

  <Accordion title="Resend: 'Domain is not verified'" icon="alert-triangle">
    Use `onboarding@resend.dev` for testing, or verify your domain in Resend.
  </Accordion>
