# Qdrant

> Open-source vector database. Self-hosted or hosted via Qdrant Cloud.

[Qdrant](https://qdrant.tech) is an open-source vector DB. Faster than Pinecone in many benchmarks; more features (payload filtering, multiple collections per cluster).

## When to pick

* You want open-source / self-hostable vector storage.
* You need rich payload filtering on top of vector search.
* You're cost-sensitive and want to self-host.

## Setup

`QDRANT_URL` and `QDRANT_API_KEY` in vly secrets. Use the Qdrant SDK from a Convex action.
