# Audit logs

> Every meaningful action in your workspace, logged, timestamped, and exportable.

vly logs every meaningful workspace action — sign-ins, member changes, project creation, deploy promotions, billing events. Available from **Workspace settings → Audit log**.

## What's logged

For longer retention, export periodically.

## Exporting

CSV or JSON export from the audit log page. Filter first (date range, action type, actor) to scope the export.

For automated export, use the API:

## Compliance use

Audit logs satisfy a major portion of SOC 2, GDPR, and HIPAA requirements around access tracking. Pair with [Data export](/security/data-export) and [Account deletion](/security/account-deletion) for the rest.

  **Review the log monthly.** Look for unexpected sign-ins, role changes you didn't make, API keys you don't recognize.

  **Set up alerts on critical events.** Workspace owners can configure email alerts on owner changes, billing changes, and SSO config changes.
