# Monitoring

> Logs, metrics, alerting. What vly provides out of the box, plus integrations for deeper observability.

Every vly project includes basic monitoring out of the box. For production apps with significant traffic, add a dedicated observability platform.

## Built-in

## Alerting

vly's built-in alerts:

* Deploy failures (email to workspace owner)
* Build errors persisting for 1 hour
* Function error rate > 5% for 5 minutes
* Storage / credit usage thresholds

For richer alerting (PagerDuty, Slack, etc.), use Sentry / Datadog integrations.

## What to monitor

| Metric | Threshold | Why |
| - | - | - |
| Function error rate | > 1% | Bugs or downstream API issues |
| p99 latency | > 1s | Performance regression |
| Auth failure rate | > 5% | Possible brute-force attempt |
| Stripe webhook failures | > 0 | Money flow at risk |
| Unique users / day | drop > 20% | Possible auth or onboarding break |
